Impact of
ICT on Working Practices
*Employees normally work on the company’s
premises but the advances in ICT has allowed more employees
to:
1-Work at home.
2-Work while travelling/Teleworking (on trains/planes).
1- Home working: Where the employee is their own boss and runs and operates their
business from home (home-based), they don't have to worry about deadlines, only
about gaining customers and dealing with them and their necessities.
2-Teleworking: is a work arrangement in which
employees do not commute to a central place of work. A person who telecommutes
is known as a "telecommuter", "teleworker", and sometimes
as a "home-sourced" employee.The employee doesn't need to travel daily to/ from
their work place or main office, and can easily work from coffee shops and also
connect to their WiFi to their main office. They can easily connect to the
office server and access information from anywhere.
